                                    Day 1
                                    Atlas Maountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley
                                    
                                After breakfast, your private driver will collect you from your hotel, riad or the airport in Marrakech. You will then begin the journey across the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi n’Tichka route.  The road passes mountain villages, changing landscapes and panoramic viewpoints where you can stop for photographs. Continue to Ait Ben Haddou, a historic fortified village built from earth and clay. You will have time to explore its narrow passageways with a local guide and enjoy views across the surrounding valley.  After lunch, travel toward Ouarzazate, a regional center known for its kasbah architecture and film industry. Depending on your interests and available time, you may visit Taourirt Kasbah or one of the nearby film studios.  Continue through Skoura and the Valley of Roses before reaching Boumalne Dades. The final section of the drive follows the Dades Valley, where cultivated fields, traditional villages and distinctive rock formations line the route.  Overnight in the Dades Valley.

                                    Day 2
                                    Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Tinghir – Erfoud – Rissani – Merzouga Desert Camp
                                    
                                After breakfast, leave the Dades Valley and continue through the landscapes of southern Morocco toward Tinghir.  Follow the palm-filled oasis to Todra Gorge, where steep limestone walls rise above a narrow river corridor. You will have time to walk through the gorge and enjoy lunch in the surrounding area.  In the afternoon, travel through desert towns and oasis landscapes toward Erfoud, an area associated with date production and fossil-rich stone. Depending on the schedule, you may visit a local fossil workshop before continuing to Rissani.  Rissani is an important regional trading center with a traditional market that is especially active on designated market days. Continue from Rissani to Merzouga and the Erg Chebbi dunes.  At the edge of the dunes, meet your camel guide and begin a camel trek across the sand. Stop to watch the changing light and sunset before continuing to your desert camp.  Dinner will be served at the camp, followed by traditional music and time beneath the desert sky.  Overnight in a Sahara Desert camp.

                                    Day 3
                                    Merzouga Desert Excursion – Khamlia – Nomadic Communities – Erg Chebbi
                                    
                                Wake early to experience sunrise over the dunes, subject to weather conditions. After breakfast at the camp, return to Merzouga by camel or 4×4 and begin a private desert excursion.  Travel by 4×4 around the Erg Chebbi region, passing sections of rocky desert, small settlements, panoramic viewpoints and former mining areas.  Visit Khamlia village, where you can learn about the community’s musical heritage and listen to a performance of traditional Gnawa-influenced music. Time can also be allowed for tea or lunch in the village, depending on the confirmed itinerary.  Subject to accessibility and local arrangements, the excursion may include a respectful visit with a nomadic or semi-nomadic family. This provides an opportunity to learn about daily routines, livestock, seasonal movement and the challenges of living in the desert environment.  Return to your accommodation near the dunes in the afternoon. The remainder of the day will be free to relax, walk near the dunes or add an optional activity such as sandboarding or a sunset excursion.  Overnight near Merzouga.

                                    Day 4
                                    Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Ziz Valley – Midelt
                                    
                                After breakfast, leave Merzouga and begin the journey north toward the Middle Atlas region.  Depending on the previous day’s program and the local market schedule, you may stop in Rissani to explore its traditional souk. Continue through Erfoud and travel toward the Ziz Valley.  The route follows a changing landscape of rocky plateaus, fortified villages and extensive palm groves. Stop at a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the Ziz Valley before continuing through the mountain corridor toward Errachidia and the Tizi n’Talghomt area.  There will be time for lunch during the journey. In the afternoon, continue to Midelt, a town located between the Middle Atlas and High Atlas mountain ranges.  After checking into your accommodation, enjoy a free evening and rest after the journey from the Sahara.  Overnight in Midelt.

                                    Day 5
                                    Midelt – Cedar Forest – Azrou – Ifrane – Fes
                                    
                                After breakfast, travel north through the landscapes and agricultural communities of the Middle Atlas Mountains.  Continue toward the cedar forests near Azrou, where Barbary macaques may sometimes be observed in their natural environment. Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed, and visitors should avoid feeding, touching or approaching the animals.  Proceed to Ifrane, a mountain town known for its orderly streets, green surroundings and alpine-influenced architecture. There will be time for a short walk, refreshments or photographs before continuing to Fes.  Arrive in Fes during the afternoon and check into your riad. Depending on your arrival time, you may begin exploring the surrounding streets, relax at your accommodation or enjoy dinner near the medina.  Overnight in Fes.

                                    Day 6 
                                    Guided Sightseeing Tour of Fes
                                    
                                After breakfast, meet your licensed local guide for a full exploration of Fes, Morocco’s historic spiritual and intellectual center.  Begin with panoramic views over the old city before entering Fes el-Bali. Walk through its narrow streets while learning about traditional neighborhoods, markets, religious schools, fountains, workshops and historic trading areas.  Your route may include Bou Inania Madrasa, Nejjarine Square and Fountain, the exterior of Al Quaraouiyine, artisan quarters and a viewpoint overlooking the traditional tanneries. Entrance visits will depend on opening hours, restoration work and your interests.  The sightseeing program may also include the Royal Palace gates, the Mellah and the pottery district. Your guide will explain the city’s history and introduce you to crafts such as leatherwork, weaving, wood carving, tilework and metalwork.  After the guided visit, enjoy free time for shopping, relaxation or independent exploration.  Overnight in Fes.

                                    Day 7 
                                    Fes – Volubilis – Meknes – Rabat
                                    
                                After breakfast, leave Fes and travel toward Volubilis, one of Morocco’s most important archaeological sites.  Explore the remains of the ancient settlement, including columns, arches, public buildings, residential areas, olive presses and surviving mosaic floors. A local guide can provide historical context and explain how the city developed through different periods.  Continue to Meknes, one of Morocco’s four imperial cities. Depending on restoration work and opening conditions, your visit may include El Hedim Square, the Bab Mansour area, the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail and other accessible sections of the historic city.  After lunch, travel to Rabat, Morocco’s administrative capital. Visit the Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V before continuing to the Kasbah of the Oudayas. Walk through its white-and-blue streets and enjoy views over the Bouregreg River and the Atlantic Ocean.  Depending on the day’s timing, the program may also include a panoramic drive past the Royal Palace or a visit to the Chellah archaeological site.  Overnight in Rabat.

                                    Day 8
                                    Rabat – Casablanca – Marrakech
                                    
                                After breakfast, leave Rabat and travel south to Casablanca.  Visit the Hassan II Mosque, one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks. An interior visit can be arranged during official visiting hours, while travelers arriving outside those hours can enjoy an exterior stop and views of the mosque beside the Atlantic Ocean.  Depending on available time, the Casablanca program may also include a panoramic drive through Mohammed V Square, the Habous Quarter, the residential district of Anfa or the Corniche.  After lunch, continue to Marrakech using the main motorway route. Upon arrival, your driver will transfer you to your hotel, riad or Marrakech Menara Airport, according to your confirmed arrangements.  Because the journey from Rabat through Casablanca to Marrakech requires several hours, travelers departing on Day 8 should book an evening flight or add an extra night in Marrakech.
