                                    Day 1
                                    Arrival in Casablanca
                                    
                                Welcome to Morocco. Upon arrival at Mohammed V International Airport, your private driver will meet you, assist with your luggage and transfer you to your hotel in Casablanca.  The first day will remain relaxed, allowing you time to recover from your flight. Depending on your arrival time, you may take a short walk along the Atlantic waterfront, explore part of central Casablanca or enjoy dinner at your hotel or a selected restaurant.  A kosher dinner can be requested when a suitable arrangement has been confirmed in advance. It should not be presented as included unless it appears in the final proposal.  Your driver or tour coordinator will review the itinerary, heritage-site appointments, dietary arrangements and the following morning’s departure time.  Overnight in Casablanca.

                                    Day 2
                                    Casablanca Jewish Heritage Tour – Rabat
                                    
                                After breakfast, meet your local guide for a private Jewish heritage and cultural tour of Casablanca.  Begin at the Museum of Moroccan Judaism, which presents religious objects, clothing, photographs, documents and other material connected to Jewish life in Morocco. The museum visit should be confirmed in advance because operating schedules may change.  Continue to Beth-El Synagogue, known for its decorative interior and stained-glass elements, when access has been arranged. Depending on permissions and time, the program may also include another synagogue, community institution or Jewish cemetery.  The precise synagogue route should be confirmed directly with the relevant community representatives. Visitors may be required to provide identification or follow specific security procedures.  The Casablanca program may also include the Hassan II Mosque during official visiting hours and a walk through the Habous Quarter.  After lunch, travel to Rabat. Visit the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and the Kasbah of the Oudayas before checking into your accommodation.  Overnight in Rabat.

                                    Day 3
                                    Rabat – Tetouan – Chefchaouen
                                    
                                After an early breakfast, leave Rabat and travel north toward Tetouan.  Meet a local guide for an introduction to the city’s Andalusian and Jewish heritage. Walk through sections of the UNESCO-listed medina and its historic mellah, whose principal street leads toward the Royal Palace area.  Depending on confirmed access, the visit may include a Jewish cemetery, former synagogue, historic residence or another location associated with Tetouan’s Jewish community. These sites should not be described as active or permanently open unless this has been verified for the travel date.  The tour should explain the city’s links with Jewish families who arrived from the Iberian Peninsula without claiming that the old mellah still has a Jewish majority.  After lunch, continue through the Rif Mountain countryside to Chefchaouen. Check into your riad and enjoy an evening walk through the blue-painted medina.  Overnight in Chefchaouen.

                                    Day 4
                                    Chefchaouen – Ouazzane and Azjen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes
                                    
                                After an early breakfast, leave Chefchaouen for one of the tour’s longest travel and heritage days.  Travel toward Ouazzane and the nearby village of Azjen, associated with the tomb of Rabbi Amram Ben Diwan. The site is an important Moroccan Jewish pilgrimage destination, while the hiloula is a specific annual event rather than something that occurs every day. Access and any visit arrangements must be confirmed in advance.  Continue toward Volubilis. Explore the remains of the ancient settlement with a local guide, including surviving columns, arches, residential areas and mosaic floors.  Proceed to Meknes for a concise visit. Depending on restoration work, available time and confirmed access, the program may include the historic mellah, Jewish cemetery or another heritage location alongside El Hedim Square and the Bab Mansour area.  Because Ouazzane, Volubilis and Meknes cannot all receive lengthy visits on the same day, the program should be adapted according to the travelers’ principal interests.  Continue to Fes in the late afternoon or evening and check into your riad.  Overnight in Fes.

                                    Day 5
                                    Fes Jewish Heritage and Medina Tour

Begin near the Royal Palace gates before entering Fes el-Jdid and the historic mellah. Explore its streets while learning about the development of the quarter, community life, trade and migration.  Visit the Jewish cemetery and the Ibn Danan Synagogue when they are open and access has been confirmed. The restored synagogue is one of the principal preserved Jewish heritage sites in Fes.  Continue to a panoramic viewpoint overlooking Fes el-Bali before entering the old medina. The cultural route may include Bou Inania Madrasa, Nejjarine Square and Fountain, the exterior of Al Quaraouiyine, artisan quarters and a viewpoint over the traditional tanneries.  Your guide will explain how Jewish and Muslim artisans, traders and communities contributed to the city’s commercial and cultural development while avoiding simplified claims about uninterrupted harmony.  After the tour, return to your accommodation or enjoy free time in the medina.  Overnight in Fes.

                                    Day 6
                                    Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga
                                    
                                After an early breakfast, leave Fes and begin the journey south through the Middle Atlas Mountains.  Stop in Ifrane for a short walk before continuing toward the cedar forests near Azrou. Barbary macaques may sometimes be observed in the forest, although wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed. Visitors should avoid feeding or approaching the animals.  Continue through mountain landscapes and agricultural communities toward Midelt, where there will be time for lunch. The annual apple festival takes place only at a particular time of year and should not be described as part of every departure.  In the afternoon, cross the Tizi n’Talghomt area and descend toward the Ziz Valley. Stop at a panoramic viewpoint overlooking its palm groves and fortified settlements.  Continue through Erfoud toward Merzouga. At the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes, travel to the camp by camel or 4×4.  Enjoy the changing evening light over the dunes before dinner at the camp. Traditional music may be offered when organized by the accommodation.  Overnight in a Sahara Desert camp.

                                    Day 7
                                    Merzouga – Rissani – Tinghir Jewish Quarter – Todra Gorge – Ouarzazate
                                    
                                Wake early for an optional sunrise experience, subject to weather conditions.  After breakfast, return from the camp by camel or 4×4 and meet your driver. Continue toward Rissani, where a market visit may be included when the day coincides with its operating schedule.  Travel west toward Tinghir. Follow the oasis toward Todra Gorge and enjoy a walk through the narrow limestone corridor.  Depending on local access and available time, visit or learn about Tinghir’s former Jewish quarter. Morocco’s national tourism office identifies the old Jewish quarter as part of the historical heritage of the Ouarzazate–Zagora–Tinghir region.  After lunch, continue through the Dades Valley and Valley of Roses toward Ouarzazate.  Because this is a long road journey, the number and duration of stops should be adjusted according to daylight, road conditions and the travelers’ pace.  Overnight in Ouarzazate.

                                    Day 8
                                    Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech
                                    
                                After breakfast, begin with an optional visit to Taourirt Kasbah or a film studio, depending on opening conditions and your interests.  Continue to Ait Ben Haddou, a historic fortified village built from earth and clay. Explore its passageways with a local guide and enjoy views over the surrounding valley.  A visit to Jewish pilgrimage or heritage locations in the wider Ouarzazate region may be arranged only when the specific site, road access, local custodian and required permissions have been confirmed. Do not promise an undefined detour to “Rabbi David Oumouchy” or “Moulay Ighi” without identifying the exact location.  After lunch, travel across the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi n’Tichka route. Stop at selected viewpoints before continuing to Marrakech.  Arrive in the late afternoon or evening and check into your accommodation.  Overnight in Marrakech.

                                    Day 9
                                    Marrakech Jewish Heritage and Cultural Tour
                                    
                                After breakfast, meet a licensed local guide for a private exploration of Marrakech’s Jewish and wider cultural heritage.  Begin in the historic mellah, where the route may include Slat Al Azama Synagogue when access has been confirmed. The synagogue remains an important visitor site within Marrakech’s Jewish quarter.  Continue to the Jewish cemetery when open and accessible. Your guide can explain the development of the mellah, the role of Jewish merchants and artisans, and the movement of families between Marrakech and southern Moroccan communities.  The wider Marrakech tour may include Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs and Ben Youssef Madrasa, depending on opening hours and ticket availability.  Walk through selected sections of the medina and souks before seeing the exterior of the Koutoubia Mosque. Non-Muslim visitors can view the mosque and surrounding gardens from outside.                                     Day 10
                                    Marrakech – Essaouira Jewish Heritage Tour
                                    
                                After breakfast, leave Marrakech and travel west toward Essaouira.  Along the way, you may stop at a reputable women’s argan cooperative to learn about the production of culinary and cosmetic argan oil. Purchases should remain optional.  Upon arrival in Essaouira, meet a local guide for a cultural and Jewish heritage tour of the medina.  Visit Bayt Dakira, the House of Memory, when open. Located in Essaouira’s historic mellah, it presents the city’s Jewish history and the shared cultural memory associated with Jewish and Muslim residents.  Continue through the former mellah and visit other synagogues, cemeteries or heritage sites only when access has been arranged. The route may also include the fishing port, Skala fortifications, artisan workshops and medina streets.  Avoid unsupported statements about the former Jewish quarter representing a fixed percentage of the city or claims about celebrity visits unrelated to the heritage itinerary.  Overnight in Essaouira.

                                    Day 11
                                    Essaouira – Casablanca Airport – Departure
                                    
                                After breakfast, your private driver will collect you for the journey to Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca.  The most practical route will normally be a direct transfer with comfort stops. Safi, Oualidia or El Jadida may be included only when the flight departs sufficiently late and the travelers understand that these stops will extend an already long transfer day.  A full visit to Jewish heritage sites in Safi and El Jadida cannot be promised on the same day as an international departure unless the flight schedule clearly allows it.  The pickup time will be planned according to the flight departure, road conditions, expected traffic and the recommended international check-in time.  For an early or midday flight, change Day 10 so that the final overnight is in Casablanca. Travelers who want meaningful visits to Safi, Oualidia and El Jadida should add a twelfth day and a final night in Casablanca.  Your 11-day Morocco Jewish Heritage Tour concludes at the airport.
